A very big part of our mission as a bicycle shop is to get more people on bikes. There are many members of our community who use bicycles as their primary form of transportation. Some of these folks do so out of desire while others do so out of necessity. We see many bikes come through our doors that are unsafe to ride and too costly for our customer to fix. At the same time, there are great bikes out there sitting in garages collecting dust. With these two problems in mind, our Community Upshift program was born.
Downshift takes donated bikes in decent shape, puts parts and labor into fixing them up and then donates them to our community members in need. Through this program, we have helped people get to work more quickly, efficiently, and independently.
